What is Jin Shin Jyutsu®?Jin Shin Jyutsu is the ancient Japanese art of harmonizing life energy within the body. It is an art of releasing accumulated tension through acupressure. Our bodies contain several energy pathways. These feed life into all our cells. When one or more of our pathways get blocked the "damming" effect may lead to discomfort or even pain. This blockage or stagnation will not only disrupt the local area but will continue and eventually disharmonize the complete path or paths of the energy flow. A Jin Shin Jyutsu session lasts about an hour, during which the client remains clothed and lies face up on a massage table. After "listening" to the energy pulses in the client’s wrists, the practitioner applies gentle fingertip pressure to specific areas of the body in a certain sequence to restore balance and energy flow. The results can be dramatic, often lasting days, from alleviation of pain to improved sleep to name just two.
back to topWho is it for?Jin Shin Jyutsu is for anyone because it awakens the body's natural power of self-healing. It can help any health issue; physical, mental or emotional and can be an important adjunct to traditional medical treatment. Where can I get treatment?Appointments are required and available in my home or yours (or at your office). My practice covers central and southern Brevard County, and the Sebastian and Vero areas. Gift certificates are available. Self HelpJin Shin Jyutsu advocates self-help and it can be used any time, anywhere. Its methods are so easy and unobtrusive that you could use them on a bus or in a meeting and all that anyone will notice is that you are holding your fingers. After a standard treatment, the patient is given a few self-help ideas specific to their condition. Self-help classes are available for the general public and practicing nurses who would like to reduce stress and promote optimal health. These are available on request for individuals and small groups and by appointment for larger groups. Biographical Information
